Babis Makrynikolas is Chief Product Officer at Lateralus AI. Lateralus builds and operates vertical AI agents, starting with AskChief, which provides maritime agents for technical and compliance work, with a second vertical currently in stealth.

At Amazon, he worked on marketplace pricing serving 2M+ third-party sellers, helped scale Prime Now's last-mile logistics, and led pricing for EC2, Amazon's largest cloud service. At Blueground, he was part of the executive team, leading the marketplace business and demand generation, and previously overseeing product management, design, pricing, and BI/Analytics as the company scaled from early stage to $700M+ in revenue.

Babis holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a BSc in Banking and Financial Management from the University of Piraeus.

He writes regularly on Rubik's Cube, a Substack covering marketplace dynamics, product strategy, and the ideas in between.

Outside of work, he is passionate about riddles and logic puzzles, and is currently working on a project in that space.
